I really cannot believe some of the utter crap some of you guys are peddling on here at the moment.
I think by rough he means it does not tick like a swiss clock. The lc8 has a bit of a rough character but that's the beauty of the beast.
The 1190 engine is very refined engine wise and certainly is an improvement over the older lc8. all bikes have their pros and cons, that's why different people chose different bikes.

I love my 950 tractor

Probably because decent beer doesn't have twist-off caps.

Pretty happy with those numbers after a lot of dirt roads and also wet and muddy tracks.

Eek I don't get it

What's with all the hostility from (some!) 950/990 owners towards the 1190 owners and vice versa? Personally, I don't need 150hp and while I am not bowled over by the new look, to call either it or the old Adventure the ugliest bike ever is simply wrong.

BMW Scarver.

If I could cherry pick, I would take the smoother, more efficient engine of the 1190, the radial calipers and call it a day. The rest I can live without since 98hp is plenty for me and I love the classic rally look. Maybe I'll take the 1190R for a test some day and maybe I'll even own one some day. If that happens, I can die knowing I owned the two best bikes ever made. (At least until the 1690R comes out. )

you don't need 150 hp because you don't have it.....
I did 7000 km and I've never used the 100hp setting, I hate it!
