They always say, that it must be an escaped "pet" - oddly enough I know goat farmers that had pyrs tree these pets, and I know of one pic taken about 6 miles from here. I guess I keep my pyr...
I saw a small goat farm off VA91, in southern VA, that had about 6 pens, all 6 had goats, chickens and one Great Pyr. I had figured that the dogs were for the coyotes, but maybe not

coyotes, bob cats, coons - anything that does not belong to the pack is fair game. Mine killed a bobcat last year (very sad, but the bobcat took about a goose a week).

and it keeps bears away too - bears don't like dogs

I took that pic hoping they wouldn't eat the camera too and people would one day know what happened to me.

Well this year the cherry trees are fruiting a few weeks later then the last few years..
And while I was in the garden very early the fog had just started to lift..
I heard some limbs and a tree racking back and forth..
Went to my bike to grab my binoculars ..
To get a look-see .. As there was NO wind..

It was a huge bear in the tree .....
He was a big fella ; from head to rump was a min 6' with out legs !!!
Eating Cherries out of the tree.. gawd I love my place...

Then I saw a smaller one walking to some Cherry trees.it looked like to about 200-300 lbs much smaller...

I have got to get that camera deal up so I can get some good stuff on dabears...
