KTM 640 ADV Carb Issue???

I've got a 2003 KTM 640 ADV. 20k miles on the clock. It runs like a top except for one thing.

When I stop hard (stoppie) or on a steep down hill with the clutch in it dies. It also starts with the choke off when cold. It idles erratically... 1500 to 1800 RPM. My elevation is 6,600 ft.

Once, and only once, I noticed a small puddle of gas on the pavement when it was parked. I have only 300 miles of riding time on this bike so my observations have been limited.

I'm thinking float height? Worn carb?

There is an o ring above the rubber tipped needle, both will fail plus check float adj.

And the BST thread.

Fixed

Carb issue is fixed, thanks to the BST thread. The float level was way off.

The bike now idles great and no more crapping out on on downhills!

Here's my solution to lifting that 7 gallon gas tank on and off in the garage during the "testing" phase of this operation.

I took the tank off my 300 exc. Much lighter! Plus you can play with the carb while it's running!
