Extreme security - the sign board said:

After this gate, there would be another section of higher security level:

We came down for paper work:

Oh, did I miss mentioning somewhere before about that.
Well, that national park is laying along side of the border belt between Vietnam and Cambodia.
The road we are entering is not the public road. It's patrol road of the Frontier army. It's sometimes used for some studying purposes and extremely restricted for tourists.

Great photo's, and good to see people do ride for fun in the rainy season, should be there in a couple of weeks, probably not on a bike quite that large though...

Thanks. Actually I am more familiar with sport and sport touring bike. However, with them I can't ride during raining season. Now with the GS, I gotta make this season become riding season also. Just don't limit ourselves within the weather permission.

Obtaining the pass thru permission was not easy as we though. Time consuming:

Take a nap at middle of nowhere:

And finally - access granted:

One by one passed the gate...

This is truly military road, no traffic, no sign of people...

It was good weather then, no rain here:

Stopped for water. Lots of insects flying all around:

Military bridge:

Kept on riding:

The road was wetter and wetter...

Slippery road:

Where on earth did you guys get those monster bikes from? When I visited Vietnam, the biggest bike I could find was 100cc!

Uhm, when did your last visit? My wife has her 125cc scooter since 2005. .
Well, there were lots of big bike imported into Vietnam since the last 7-8 years.
See the link # III.2 from my signature, you may think you are outdated for decades.

Riding in the rain for some hours, then we came to the highland called Dakmil. Met two friends of ours there:

Discussed about the next route:

Big thank to this little guy, who have ridden almost 300km semi-offroad to see us here:
