Kelsow does Blomidon, Nova Scotia
Today we were joined by a couple of new riders. NSDave who we have met one time before and a friend of Gasburners, Kirk.
I'll call him "Lil Kirkie" for the time being. He was lucky enough to talk GB into borrowing his KLR.
Also on the ride was our resident GPS savant (idiot) JSPEED aka Jimbo
Our first stop was at an old farm house on Uniacke Lake. http://museum.gov.ns.ca/uemp/en/home...e/default.aspx
I had been here before so I didn't bother taking the same pix over again.
From there we headed toward Windsor the only way we know how. Indirectly and via some dirt.
After experiencing a few twisty roads, we arrived in Acadia. This is a small university town where daughter #1
will be heading to school in the fall. I'm very excited for her but she is scared sh*tless.
We stopped at a pub and had a scoff,
From there we headed to Blomidon to see what was going on,
I had planned on camping but when we got there it was too early to stop for the day.
I guess I should have anyway.
There is a bit of a twisty road heading up and back from the camping area so I thought it would make for some OK pix.
Camera wasn't taking the damn shot when I wanted it to, so I missed quite a few.
It was here where my luck changed. I headed off to go toward my second camp site for the day but I took a few detours and
found myself in a bit of a pickle,
As soon as I rode into it I knew it was a mistake. WTF am I going to do now?
I started paddling and got turned up the beach but only dug in deeper.
I had to get off and push while winding the crap out of the bike.
I did manage to make these interesting tracks in the sand.
It reminded me of this,
I certainly felt like a turtle.
I did have time for a nice sand shower,
Since I got some OK pix, I suppose it was worth it,
I was running low on fuel so I decided to head into Berwick, there I decided I wanted to camp closer to home, so I headed cross land to Chester.
I found a bit more dirt along the way,
Next campsite on Graves Island was full and so was the following one in Hubbards. I then decided to save my camping
permission slip for next time and headed the 45 mins home.
At least I had a better time than these folks,
