(When) can stalling cause damage?

Let the clutch out a bit quickly when we were getting going this morning. We were on a slight downhill, fully-loaded, 2-up. The bike bucked pretty hard a few times and came to a halt.

Just after, I noticed a strange sound when I am coasting with the clutch pulled in (which may be there when the clutch is out, but maybe can't hear due to the sound of the engine).

Could the be damage to something? The transmission?

When you fall over.

Any random noise like that COULD be the result of damage, but I doubt it. It would be HARD to do damage when stalling the motor I think. Make sure the noise isn't a clutch plate bolt backing out or something, but I would bet the noise has been there all along and you are just paying attention to it now.

Paula picked up a package of toffee last night. This morning, after the stall, we rode down the street for breakfast. After getting off the bike, I noticed a piece of toffee in its wrapper on the ground under the motorcycle. Where did that come from? After breakfast, we drove away and the noise wasn't present. Was it the toffee?

Most likely; the medical grade green toffee would be my best guess.
