Ride over FS18-FS17 for beer and bbq.

I did a solo ride to my buddies house in Concrete from Hwy 520 via FS18-FS17 for beer and bbq. The snow was almost gone and the FS roads on the 530 side were free and clear. The FS roads on the Hwy 20 side had some blow downs but it looks as if someone was up there recently cleaning it up. My thanks to all you guys on here that pack your saws up on these roads for the rest of us to enjoy (you know who are).

Start of FS18 from Swede Heaven.

Sno Park parking area. Free and clear.

I believe this is the FS1855 turn off to the right.

View near the top.

This is all the snow thats left on the road at the top near the pond.

On my way back down the other side.

I was trying out a new point and shoot. Some pics are blurry.

Paused for a waterfall pic.

The Skagit was flowing quickly.

The lovely town of Concrete.

View from my buddies porch.

After lunch I headed back down Skagit Hwy then Hwy 9 home. It was a nice ride and the light rain wasn’t too bad.

Nice ride! Thanks for sharing. I'll have to finally get around to doing that this year.

I think that I will head up 18 this week with a couple of small dual sports.
Where is the best place to park my van for the day?

There is a gravel parking lot on the NW corner of HWY 530 and Swede Heaven Rd. I believe its a park and ride lot. Its right near the highway and across the street from the gas station. Have fun.

Thanks - we are on our way.

If anyone is out that way today and sees a grandpa and grandma cruising along on a pair of CRF, that be us - say hi.

Almost nobody else riding 18 / 17 yesterday.
We only saw two other bikes.

Sylviane taking a beverage break three miles up a road without a posted number.
It goes up the hill almost across from 1820.
Thick with alder overgrowth in places, does it get better further up?
