Cool! - It was quite a spectacle wasn't it ...We started off watching them come through Kelvingrove Park..it was strange seeing all the police and support vehicles flying through the middle of the park.

There was one point, down near Trongate where both sides of the course were only a couple of meters apart..great for viewing.

Down on Argyle Street...

In fact i tried to test if a "schwantz's replica" was a good idea on a old Gixxer, but not...

So i prefer to have a unique model

Thumb suitable

Perfect livery for a "privateer".

Well our mid week evening run up to Strathyre last night was a bit more 'eventful' than we would have liked.

Unfortunately on the way back Jimmy, on his Speed Triple, collided with a car (coming the other way) on one of the tight bends by Loch Lubnaig.

The bike went down the side of the car like a giant can opener tearing the car's rear tyre out too! ..... by some miracle Jimmy managed to get his leg out of the way and managed to walk away with cuts to hands and a sore back (he's a lucky lad ..and used up another chunk of luck ).

Sorry

That does make my earlier comment seem uncaring. That'll teach me to be so quick, I thought that one of you might have got done for speeding.
Apologies all round.

This is the bend in question - truck squeezing by.....

From the other direction... as you can see there is not a lot of 'run-off in either direction!

No worries mate ....

Luckily no-one was seriously injured ....just vehicle damage mostly. In fact I was able to take Jimmy home on the pillion.... so he is very much in the category of 'walking wounded' ...probably feeling a bit battered and bruised this morning though. ... but beats waking up in hospital.

A few more from last night ....20 mins before we were sitting enjoying a drink in Strathyre having had a very pleasant and 'uneventful ride up from Glasgow....

Jimmy's Triumph ..still looking immaculate at this point ...mind you, it was looking surprisingly good after the crash too considering it had hit a car and ended up lying on it's side in the middle of the A84.... those crash bungs did their job ..however it may now be a 'write off' as the engine casings are scuffed, the tank has a dent in it and the forks look like they might be bent.....

Time to leave ..around 8:00 pm - the midges were starting to make their presence felt...

We didn't get far ... about 2 miles...

My old Arai with Loch Lubnaig in the background.....

I hate that bend. Too many car's towing caravans and HGV's crossing the double lines.

I stumbled upon an accident there once, an old boy on a Fireblade took it too fast and broke his collar bone. Another guy pulled up, I recognise him from your photos he rides a red & white R1.

Very true ...but if you are going to have an accident - the one's you get to walk away from (like this one) are the best kind...
