WA Overland and Touratech Adventure Rally June 27-30

I wanted to put this into the PNW section but wasn't sure if it would violate the rules if we put in regular updates, so it'll go here for now.

The WA Overland Rally and the Touratech Adventure Rally are combined this year. June 27-30 in Plain WA (outside Leavenworth).

Should be a big, fun, family-friendly weekend. Camp on-site, learn a bunch of stuff, meet friends, and ride all over the mountains around Leavenworth.

Cost is only $75 a head (includes your bike, most classes, all presentations, and camping).

PSSOR is running classes at various levels, including a FREE Basic Off-Road Skills Clinic.

There will also be medical, cooking, maintenance, etc. classes all weekend. Plus prizes, fun, and some cool presentations by folks like Rene Cormier.

There will even be DS bikes available to rent if you are currently bike-less.

Details are at

One of the presenters at the Rally will be Rene Cormier. A brief intro below:

"33-year-old Rene Cormier removed himself from the working world, and cashed in what few possessions he had to finance a three-year-long motorcycle journey around the world. Never one to let excessive planning get in the way of a good ride, Rene ran out of money half way through the tour and ultimately took five years to cover his 41-country, 154,000-kilometre (95,000 mile) route. Rene did his trip the old-fashioned way; no sponsors, no support vehicles, and no idea about what he was going to learn along the way."

Should be fun.

Heading to the rally tomorrow. Better late than never!

Looks like a good lineup of presentations and rides.

Thanks to everyone who came to the rally, we had about 500 people there, at least half of those came on bikes.
