I can get a set of front and rear for that price. I'm quite surprised as being in Canada, everything is usually more expensive here.

It's difficult to find the perfect tire for the 950SE. I rode on a new set of the Motoz's yesterday and was semi-satisfied but not excited. Here's my opinion:
The front was loose on gravel, I prefer the Metzler Karoo 2.
The front slid out multiple times on wet dirt surface (however I've never experienced a dual sport tire that didn't)
The front needs less air than where I was at with 22psi, it deflected way to often. May try 19psi next time out.
The rear was good on certain surfaces but didn't climb well on wet dirt. On crowned wet pack trail the tire would slide left and right.
The knobs lost their square edge in less than 200km of trail/gravel.
No question that the knobs look impressive but the performance is mediocre.
As it dries up here I'm sure I'll be less critical.
Also they are scary slippery when new on the pavement. Took off out of my driveway and left a big darkie and wasn't really trying to. Got a big thumbs up from my son though.

What a pain in the ass granted first time changing tires on my SE by myself but i can't get to the front to seat correctly.

Inflated and deflated it a few times with some WD 40 and it finally seated correctly

Chaparral Motor sports seems to have these tires in stock at the moment for $107. I have a rear Desert on the way. It's going on an excel 3.5 rim.

I'm about to mount one on my SE for a DS ride in KY/TN in two weekends. will see how it works as long as its not raining (the 450 will go if it's really wet, no need to flog myself on muddy single track on the SE).

a fellow inmate was mounting a motoz 140/80-18 tonight on his 690 with the 2.5" wheel. i went over to see how it would fit the 990 4.25" wheel, and it is not even close. the tire's profile is nearly flat and would only be good in a straight line.

i am running a 140/80-18 karoo 3, and although not optimal, it fits the rim much better.

motoz, please come out with a 150/70-18.... pretty please?!?

Thought I would give ya a 6000k update.
Mostly big FSR's , some 2-track a pretty big summer pavement tour with mixed gravel and some back & forth to work on the hot summer pavement.

Some of the summer pavement was numerous K's of 140-180kph



Some of the FSR K's were 110+kph loaded for overnight & x-tra fuel.

Doing really well on the knob height, although to me this tire is now hooped(new one on order), for the wet fall riding we are going to be getting into now.
Always ran at 35psi


So it started cracking at about 2000k or so, but it did not get worse and it did not blow appart.
One ride I caught up to a Harlie and we played a little back & forth up to almost 200kph for a while.
One corner we hit about 140 or so, was fast enough for him to blow through a center paved median and 2 of the on-coming lanes to the far paved shoulder....the MOTOZ's said "Give me more"! and handled the inside pass at full throttle




It looks like a problem ...but I really don't think it is. There are no signs of the tire/knobs separating from the carcass.




THe front...still has alot of rubber left but is doing the strange BIG BIKE wear pattern
Always ran at 35psi

I do like the tire and have ordered another rear.
As for the front ...not sure on that yet. It seemed a little washy in the dry dirt but for my riding it wasn't too bad, I could live with it

You know I never liked a 606 front. That front looks similar to a 606. I found the 739's that have been discontiuned to work well up front, ironicly the 908 front is the some patern as the old 739. They dont wear as well on pavement but for the better offroad grip its worth it to me. Its funny about the price of the 908 rear I bought two several years ago for my 950 se seems like I gave about $100 ea I never had a chance to run them on it since some one stole the bike from me, I ended up running them on my moto guzzi quota and its time for a new tire, I choked at the $200 asking price now.

Looks like a little of Fraser Canyon in BC maybe in the first shot?

I am from Vancouver so I get a little homesick when I see those photos.

I was at one of your early Loose Screw Rallys a few years ago - good times.

Nice bike setup.
