CB 350 hacked

Hi all I have just completed putting a inder side car on my 1972 cb350 it looks great and will be fun. I say I have put it on is not quite accurate without the huge help of my mate Mick I would still be scratching my arse. Any way lights need to be connected and I will be on my way this weekend with 60Kg of ballast. I think the inder universal installation kit was a great start for $300 but we did end up cutting and re welding a number of parts. Stopping the frame clamps from moving was bit of a challenge along with the clevises, a bit of electric loctite may be in-order after a few Kms .Photos to come

I would be willing to bet it was the CL 350/Inder they put together at the rally. I should have got some pictures of it since it was right in front of my tent.

Not complaining by the way just stating the fact.

Lost your bet

No its my first go at sidecar building and I havent been to a sidecar rally yet!
Got some ballast today and took it for a spin around the block, not to bad but I will need a steering damper. I past a mates place and he came out and wanted a ride in the chair ,he is 100 kg plus 40 kg ballast and it still went ok
see you all on the road.Sorry I am having trouble loading photos

Talking

That is a bet I do not mind losing since it means more sidecars out there.

I still should have got some pictures of that CL 350/Inder rig though. It sounds like you had the same mounting issues he had.

If you want you can email me the pictures and I would be happy to post them for you.

Here are the pictures but they must have got mixed up in the conversion since the tub ended up on the wrong side.

Nice looking little rig by the way, I really wish I had pictures of the one from Mountain View now.

thanks

thanks for your help with the pics . Yes she is a pretty little thing ,I have had some fun with the finish on the bike ,my mates take the piss a bit and say its covered with draw liner .But it is different . Took the hack (or outfit we say here in AU) out for a spin yesturday . It was awful ,pulled to the left badly ..I spoke to my side car consultant Mick: He said check everything including wheel bearings .he said something had probably moved I said no its all good .He was right so may need a brace or two to stop the movement .

That turned out neat ... for a blues supporter

Landing light in the nose is a bottler.

Question , did the upper adjustable struts come with the chair or did you source them from somewhere ?

Try a little bit more lean out .

yes I will give it a bit more lean out .try it tonight after work. The struts I got from EuroBrit in Melbourne they cost $300 for the kit, 4 struts and there mounts
I think that is good value. We had to cut some down but thats ok at least they had plenty of length and plenty of adjustment.

Thanks for that .

300 bucks is worth it just for the fact that you don't have to make them .

More work needed

Did some more work on the CB on Sunday , with the help of Mick (I pass the tools) we got it all back into shape .We added a clamp to the front lower mount to the frame and took it out for a spin on Micks VERY rough driveway .It all stayed in place I almost ended up in a fence . Hit a hole and it spat me off to the right , more concentration needed I am told .Still haven't fond a damper yet EBAY wont let me down.Think I may have to ditch the narrow flat bars there's not enough control , so there goes the look .But hay staying in a straight line is more important let alone keeping away from fences , trees, and banks. It is a very rough driveway.
