Actually, Jungle man is a cartel grower...Why do you think he rides so many miles in the backcountry? He's checking his crops.

More options that we have time to type. Get the online Sequoia NF maps and start looking. What kind of riding, what bike, hot summer lakes, or cool mountain meadows? Gnarly technical rocky stuff? Truck or adv-bike camping? The Kern Plateau (Kennedy Meadows, etc...) is popular this time of year.

Kern River Valley Single Track

Anyone know of interesting single track in and around the Kern River Valley, (not Kennedy Meadows), without the huge pucker factor like the Cannel or Rincon Trails?
Now is the time to ride the area. With the level of both Lake Isabella & the Kern lower than normal, water people are going elsewhere, see picture above, leaving more room for us in the much loved campgrounds.

Well it was 109F in Kernville today and 102F in Johnson Valley. I'd wanna be up on top of the mountain.

If you think Cannel has a "pucker factor" you shouldn't ride this area. Cannel is the easiest trail out there.

And that is where I'll be tomorrow, the top of the mountain. 84 degrees.

Cannel is the "easiest trail out there"? Really Kap? Guess I've never been to the easy part, just the Plunge. Maybe I have to make do with JO on Greenhorn.

I agree with Kap. Cannell is easy peasy without a doubt no pucker factor. Just a bunch of nuisance switchbacks. I guess if you're afraid of heights it might be bit intimidating, but absolutely not hard.
