Love it. Wish you had video. You get a lot of neat airplanes, for what surely must be a small airport in southern Missouri. Is your airport conveniently placed for travelers or something?

A long time ago in this thread I posted an audio file of me getting to start the engine on the Beech 18 we have at our A&P school.

They brought it inside finally and are starting to restore it.

Here it is as it stands now.

Here's a cabinet of some of the paperwork from the previous owners.

Actually, I miss quite a few shots because I'm working sometimes...

I think we do a bit of business from coast-to-coast flyers because of our location. Also, no ramp fees, decent approaches, a control tower, and the ability to get in and out are appealing to some of the corporate types. My friends who are not aviators are often surprised when I tell them about the going's on at the airport here too. Maybe people who don't hang out at their local airport every day just don't understand what really goes on or how much commerce takes place out there. We've got about 80-90 based aircraft including a handfull of corporate jets and maybe 7-8 helicopters. Here's the lowdown...

The plane ID thread has fallen off the edge of ADV. Was this plane included?

Is it one of the Air Force's/NASA's hypersonic X planes?

I love this picture!

It's like a vindication. Change it to "5th Grade teacher" and it would be spot on. Up yours, Ms. Sheppard!

I think it was one of his highlights, for sure!
That turbo Otter looks to be heavily loaded judging by how low the rear of the floats are sitting in the water. Hot, calm day with a big load means a long takeoff run for float planes. If you can get it up on the step it should get off though.

Yeah, it was full with 7 or 8 guys who were leaving the camp, all their gear and tons of fish on ice. Cool weather, maybe low 60s. I think from pulling from the dock, he was up in less than a 1/4 mile. I was impressed. The little plane that came in a few times would do it in about 200 yards. I couldn't believe how quick it was, but he was usually empty..

Aviation MegaThread!!!!

My view out the window seat 20L, UAL33 ORD-IAH Monday night climbing out of ORD. B787. Amazing aircraft when it works. We departed almost 30 minutes late waiting on connectors. Still managed an on time arrival. Average ground speed showed about 575mph. One hour 55 minutes flying time. FL400.
