Is anyone headed to Lawrence Hacking's Overland Rally?

My wife and I have registered for the July 12-14th weekend and are looking forward to it.

There is more info for the event provided by the organizers in the Vendor section or at the event website: http://www.overlandadventurerally.com/

Thumb Getting Excited

Just got an email from a UK ADV rider we met in Arizona, at the OX. His name is Mel, and he is from GB, he is currently on his RTW on a Honda XR650. Some of the folks out west may have already met him, he is heading this way from Edmonton. Nice guy and riding on a tight budget.

Looking forward to seeing you guys at the event.

Heading out from downtown TO in a couple of hours.

Remember that the Lakeshore is closed completely for Indy around the Ex until Sunday night if you are going that way.

Even if you are not participating in the rally, it looks like there are a bunch of free vendor displays and separate ticket events like the concert and seminars if you need an excuse to ride somewhere this weekend.

Just got back from the event this morning. Lawrence and his crew of workers, sponsors, friends and family did a great job in putting together a relaxed, RIDING event for everyone. They laid out a good dual sport route that incorporated pavement, gravel, road allowances, and an optional "!!" section. They also had a pavement only route. The headquarters vendors, food, accommodations were all good. Speakers in the evening included Simon Pavey and Rene Cormier. You can't get much better than that!

Rumor is that the 2014 event will be the same weekend next year.

Hats off to Lawrence and his crew. The Overland Adventure Rally was a huge success by all standards.

Excellent inaugural event. When can I sign up for next year?
