A Different Kind Of Adventure

So I went out for a blast on the bike on Friday, headed over the back to Sheps' to drop off his chain splitter. On the way back I called the missus to see if she wanted to go up to the Lakes and have another go at Helvellyn (we had tried it last February, but had to turn back due to the deep snow and ice).

She agreed, so I went back home to find a campsite and load the bike up. As soon as the missus was home from graft we set off.

Looking back down at Ullswater.

Looking back the views were awesome as we climbed higher, that's the missus way back.

And this is the mountain we were going to climb.

Jack making her way up and along "Striding Edge"

Was pretty tricky in places

We made it to the top though and the views were stunning.

We went back down via "Swirrel Edge" which was also a bit testing, but great fun.

We made it down safe and sound though.

And the best thing about the adventure? We had our Adventure waiting for us to take us back home under warm sunny skies! Fookin awesome 24 hours!

I spit up a piece of lung just looking at that pile of rock. Good on you two.

Eyup DeeGee

What good report. Some cracking pictures there. I've been up there a good few times over the years but don't think I have ever had weather like that. Hope you tried a beer or two after that.

Cheers Glenn.

Cheers Guys!

Hey Glenn we packed the bike up as soon as we finished and headed straight back home, ideally we would've stayed another night, but I was doing a bit of cheffing for a pal of mine on the Sunday. We cracked a few beers open when we got home though.
