Ride Manitoulin Motorcycle Rally. July 19 - 21, 2013

This is our 3rd year running and we have expanded it to 3 days.

The Adventure Ride last year was a success and this year we are adding a scenic Points of Interest ride. This is a dual-sport type of ride, knobbies are not required.

Bring your camera for some great scenery!

Start your adventure by taking the Chi-Cheemaun ferry in Tobermory: http://www.ontarioferries.com/ontariofe ... edule.html

It's Getting Close!

We are gearing up for our third annual Ride Manitoulin Rally on beautiful Manitoulin Island. As well as the Points of Interest ride, we will run the Adventure Ride again on Saturday. This was a success last year and this year it should be even better! It will be a mix of pavement, gravel and dirt roads. Big Dog Friendly for sure!

Just wondering what kind of turn-outs are expected for the overall rally? I won't be going off-road, but I've never been North of Gravenhurst and thought this may be a fun way to see some new places with some music and a few beers at the end. I'd be going solo.
Looking at possibly taking the ferry North from Tobarmory on Saturday and riding the distance back the next day.

Thanks

We had about 2000 people last year. I would definitely recommend taking the ferry. Bikes get priority, first on, first off. I would call ahead and reserve a spot on the ferry (Chi-cheemaun), just in case.

Ferry

Called Sunday to book the ferry for Fri at 11:30 (the Tub to SBM) and there were a few spots left for bikes. Sunday coming from SBM to the Tub the 1:30 booking for bikes was full. Had to wait until 5:30 to get back south.
Don't wait to book.

Thanks for that... can't book ferry at this point as I'm not certain of my attendance. I definitely would like to do a loop by riding and ferry or the other way round.
Are there trees to hang a hammock?

Just want to send a big thanks to the ones that setup the adventure ride this year. Even for a beginner, I never felt pushed but still had a blast seeing some of the views of the island off the beaten path. I will definitely be back to check out the Isalnd again and hopefully make it up for the next rally.

Wife and I had a good time as well. Got caught in the thunder/hail/high winds in the Parry Sound area on friday that held us up for an hr and a half, but we had a nice ride afterwards and a good time at the rally. Didn't do any offroad and ended up riding from the Barrie area there and back without taking any ferries. My poor planning allowed for that.

Would go back next yr and visit some more Island towns.....

To the OP, thanks for starting this thread. Would never had known about it otherwise.

Glad you had a great time. Just remember though some of those big puddles may have some surprises in the middle.

Glad to see the adv guys had a good ride. I would've loved to join you except my gf decided she wanted to go for a ride so I took the FJR instead of the trail-bike.

The cruiser side of the rally was a great big dud, not that I expected anything from it other than a nice day for a ride which it was in spades.

Next year, let the gf do the Ladies Ride and you bring the off-roader!
