What is the widest set of tyre's on Aplina 19/17 wheel combo that will work with the 990/950 adv please? Just curious might be looking into a road set of wheels for my 950 adv.

I'm thinking about a set of these wheels also for my 990 Adventure. I'm not that mechanically minded so apart from getting tyres fitted to the wheels what else is involved with fitting these to the bike?

Also I'm guessing a smaller front wheel (going form 21" to 19") with throw the speedo out. What is the solution for that?

You can change the wheel diameter in the odometer settings. If you have your manual, it will explain how to operate the mode/set buttons.
Easy as pie :)
