It was very green today and the vintage trials guys were having a blast. Rain almost every day. Thank you for the large effort guys.

It probably is more comfy than the KTM seat. I however have never seen B-rad ever sit down while riding so hard to know

Laugh today

Went back today with a little hand saw. We decided the couple big downed trees were too much for us and the saw to handle. So we left them. They are not to hard to get over and it seems like they are deterring ATV traffic. Ooops, did I just say that out loud?
Today was awesome. B-rad and J-rad joined me and we did the super cool 30 mile loop of mostly single track. Highlight was watching a herd of over 100 elk cross the trail in front of us. It was like an elk army invasion. Tons of baby elk and some monster bucks. In the 10 min it took for them to cross I never even considered taking a photo. I was mesmerized. Ride on...Beers, Atom...

yes, the husky chainsaw seat mod is way more comfy then the stock ktm seat. I recommend it to everyone!! lol,.....not.

it was a great day working on the trail. even better day yesterday when we rode it without down trees.

hopefully we can rally the troops every spring for a trail maintenance day.

Help

I am new to the Northern NM area, and was trying to figure out exactly where you guys are riding here.....

I know a little bit about the Jemez area on the west side of the caldera, I rode up there the end of last week, even with all of it being closed.

I looked up this Sipapu area, and found that it is part of the Santa Fe NF, which is all closed except for two small areas.

Am I looking it the wrong area?

A little more info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Sipapu is in the Carson NF, not Santa Fe.

Located on Highway 518, 20 miles southeast of Taos in northwestern New Mexico.

GPS Coordinates: N 36 09.15 W 105 32.53

Directions From Taos

Estimated Travel Time: Less than 40 minutes
* Take Hwy 68 South.
* Make a left on Hwy 518.
* Continue 20 miles until you reach Sipapu.

Thanks.

I couldn't tell on google maps what forest it was, what I saw was SFNF.

Gotta fix the CDI in XRL, then I will have to go check it out.

Looks like an awesome area to go for a ride.

Once the dust settled, the carnage was awesome. Great b-day ride today with 8 folks. Did a little hill climb sandbagging.....

Man!! I wished we had followed you guys up the hill. We thought you might be going on a longer ride, so we took the trail heading back to the
vehicles.

The conditions were perfect out there.

Nice meeting some of you guys.

Good meeting you guys also. Ya the trail up to La Cueva peak is just a 3/4 mile viewpoint detour from trail 8. It was pretty fun.
Give a shout if your in the area again. We go all the time.
The conditions are probably perfect now. Rained all night. Atom...
