Coal Creek is on Lillis, currently a house and about 1-2 acres around. Listening to the scanner. New fire reported on Flagstaff. It's bad out there.

It is almost fully contained - sounds like a structure fire that burned some grass as well. The structure is apparently fully engulfed and collapsing so they are just making sure it doesn't expand. Luckily the wind is not blowing today.

Showers starting this weekend and better chances of some monsoonal moisture by middle of next week!!!!

There's also one up on Dakota Mountain (kind of near Apex) but it sounds like it will be out today. I was listening to that one on the scanner last night - good times!!

Just got back to the shop. . . spent the last several hours dowsing and mopping-up a fire that started to take off from a lightening strike last night (southwest of Arthur's Rock at Lory State Park).
A few trees, lots of duff to mop. . . luckily everyhitng around was still damp from last nights deluge!

I hope everyone posts up 2013 fires here on
Rick's thread - would be interesting to see all of the big and small fires throughout the year.

Today's Wildfires are very close to home...

Crap. Please let the winds stay calm - fairly far away from us at this point but yuck, please let the monsoons come soon.

Lyons and Larimer County fire crews are heading to a two wildfires near Pinewood Reservoir in south Larimer County, according to officials.

Dispatchers began receiving calls of smoke coming from the area after a lightning strike in heavily forested area at around 1:45 p.m. today.

The Hell's Canyon Fire is burning about five to seven acres in steep terrain near County Road 18 and Pole Hill Road, while the second fire -- the Pole Hill Fire -- is one to two acres in size to the northwest, the Larimer County Sheriff's Office tweeted.

A type-3 helicopter is on scene fighting the Pole Hill Fire, and Larimer County tweeted that a single-engine air tanker and a type-1 helicopter have been requested.
