Dolores CO ride the COBDR north and the UTBDR south back into CO.

My starting point July 27 http://www.dminn.com/index.html

That's basically what we are doing. We are staying in Hesperus, CO with an inmate and heading from there into Dolores, CO to pick up the COBDR. We'll be hitting Dolores July 28th, so we'll be right behind you. We are riding the COBDR all the way to the CO/WY border or near there before heading West towards UT.

Have you already put your path together to connect the northern part of the COBDR and the UTBDR? I don't think we have enough time to go all the way to the very northern tip of UT, so we'll probably be picking up somewhere a bit further south, but there is still quite a bit of ground to cover on the northern end to connect them.

I'm just ridding the COBDR @ the WY border I will be turning south east and working my way to Pueblo CO. I wish I had time for the UTBDR too.

Have a safe ride.

couple of connections for loop

We have a couple of routes planned already for the connection, and depending on how much time, may take the shorter of the two. BigDog planned one of the connections, and ArtLocks planned the other. Both look fun.

today we rode from dolores to lake city, had lunch in ouray and to lake city via engineers pass, no problems at all, just the first miles off hwy 550, very technical for the klrs, riding with my son, had a great time, tomorrow to buena vista...

We are on our way back from Gypsum to Dolores, stopping at buena vista and lake city. Did Enginner pass, Ophir pass, cottonwood, hagerman, etc, on our Klr with stock tires, started our trip with 1000 miles on them, stock jetting, not a single problem, anywhere, the most interesting part was taking enginner pass from ouray, first 10 miles were a handful because of the weight.

Go for it, COBDR is great!!

Pitkin hotel stop

You will pass through the old mining town of Pitkin on about the third night. The historic Pitkin hotel has a bunk house for $18 a night with clean showers. A good break from sleeping on the ground, especially if it has been raining. You can also cook in their kitchen.
