This was a very surreal event for me. Not even sure if that's the right word to use. I never met DrCool but had chatted with him many times about iceracing pictures in another thread. I could tell by the emotions during the memorial that he was a very special man, husband, father and friend.
I could feel the love and the loss.
It was my honor to be included in this memorial.

Here are some of the pictures I took making my way to Meat Cove.

I met this nice couple, Marvin (Terrathumper) and Cindy

Here we have DaMurph arriving all the way from Newfoundland.

Here we are waiting for dinner,

I volunteered my camp site for the fire. The wood was very wet so it took a while to get started,

Here is (name escapes me) making a stencil,

WTF is he doing?...

(Artist rendering)

Scott had a flashlight that rivaled the sun so he shone it on the other side of the hill. First was the ADV salute and then the logo.

Too funny.

So the next morning we all awoke at the crack of dawn to this,

This was a special day,

Most riders left at 8:00 for coffee but there was a handful left with me so I scooted ahead to try to take some pix.
Most of the headlights (bright) screwed with the focus, but whatyagonnado?

Just we got to Neils Harbour some "crazy lady" came screaming at us "Do you guys want coffee?"

Only in the Maritimes.

We stayed for cake and coffee but had to leave for the start of the memorial.

Here is Ion telling us the story of that day's events.

Signing the stone,

Passing the stone up to it's final resting spot,

After the memorial and quite a few tears it was time to say goodbye to Dave's family and head back home.

RIP DrCool

It was just a pile of smoking embers when I rode by.

I was honored to be there and it was worth the mileage to hear the stories. Thank you all.
I rode with Littlepeter for the day and stayed at his home, thank you Peter, and in the morning we found TerraThumper and LittleThumper fueling up so we rode together till Peter went home after lunch. Spent the day riding the Eastern Shore with them and camped in Salsman Park after the ladies at the local community center took pity and fed us. In the morn we ended up in Sheet Hr for lunch and I had to burn it for the boat in North Sydney. Got home at 2130 on Monday evening in cold fog with only one close moose sighting 10 kms from home.

If I still had every dollar I spent on motorbikes I would be a richer man but a poorer person.
