Garmin Montana 650t rotating screen while riding

Hi guys,

I got a refurbished unit that was advertized as new. It came with a foil on the screen that I left there and went on my first trip - http://connect.garmin.com/profile/TomasVetr

However for most of the time, the screen was rotating 90 degrees or upside down the whole 4 days - almost impossible to use without stopping. While stationary it works just fine.

Anyone experienced something similar? Could it be there is dust under the foil I left on the screen or is there some settings that could help? I got no response for help form the seller - only auto reply that the unit was in like new condition and all claims should be made with Garmin directly.

I am using the powered holder together with a RAM mount.

Thx

Tomas

Easy to go to setup, then go to the settings to lock the screen in landscape.

I felt like an idiot with the same problem. I went through the screens and could not find a "lock screen" Turns out its there and I just could not read.

Works great now that i locked it.

Ron, thank you for the pointer - works great now!

But I still wonder - what is causing that? Is it dust on the screen, bike vibrations or something else? Anyone knows?

The factory setting is auto orentation, which means as the GPS moves it tries to oreint the screen so the map is right side up for you, I had to lock the screen on my 600 too...

It's a sensor in the gps which interprets the bike leaning or accelerating as reason enough to switch orientation unless you lock it.
