I agree bautista is right there i beleive the fact he is using the lessor brakes and suspension masks his efforts and i think bradl also uses either showa or nissins not both, smith is doing ok for a rookie

Don't even get me started on Silly season and riders deserving better bikes.

Some of my riding pals have even started a petition to get Iannone on the Gresini bike

True, but MM has raised expectations, and Redding is a match for MM. I know who I'd want.

Redding is in great form this year, but letīs get back on this Marquez thing, once Redding has lifted a couple world titles from the smaller classes.... (and even once spanked the entire Moto2 field after being last into the 1st corner.)

Also, it is not common for riders to step up to MotoGP, and start fighting for victories and championship straight away. Even if you gave Stonerīs ex-bike to everyone, who arrives in MotoGP, most riders would still struggle at first. Marquez just climbed aboard, and was immediately up there with JLo and DP.

In fact that's exactly what happened to Jonathan Rea.

I may be wrong on this but I was thinking that Redding would be a better fit on a GP bike? I keep hearing about him losing out down the straights because of his size. Wouldn't his larger size be a benefit and less of a hindrance with the higher HP bikes? I know MM is tiny and doing good but I figure a bigger guy would be faster on a MotoGP bike vs a Moto2 bike? Apples vs oranges?

We won't know till Redding steps up.

We do know Smith isn't a rival to MM.

25 sec's behind the winner at the last race ain't bad for a rookie. MM is something special, but Cal has shown what can happen with time to learn, Bradley is gradually getting up to speed, lets not forget the dog of a bike he had the last few seasons.

Smith is still recovering from two seasons on the frankly crap Tech3 Moto2 bike (which Danny Kent is now burdened with). Prior to that he was a 125 GP winner and runner up in the 125 championship. He's not a Marquez that's for sure but he is a good rider and will continue to improve imho.
Redding is potentially quicker in Moto GP though and is still the youngest ever GP winner (15 years old when he won his first 125 race).
That's my take on the young Brits fwiw (probably not much! )
