It's gotten worse. 70 mph collisions on residential side streets, drag races on freeway service drives, and on Saturday night, the Motor City 500 on the freeway. It's the People's Republic of Carjackistan. I don't go there anymore.

missed the bus one day and though i'd carefully commute the 3 miles to work on the road bike. four drivers cut me off. horn blast and hit the brakes each time then pulled up next to them at the lights and stared at them.

at least they had the decency to look nervous, and nobody carries firearms around these here parts.

needless to say haven't commuted since.

Not a single glance to see if anybody was in the way. He almost took me out on my KLR along with a couple of cages that managed to get out of the way. Even with brakes squealing and horns honking the driver never once looked in the mirror to see what was going on, or even turned his head...
Ghettrobus sure is working hard to get their vehicular homicide rates back up! They've really had a drought over the past few years! Don't know why they don't just stick to what has historically worked best and just run over pedestrians in the crosswalk while turning left at an intersection. Get that good rear-engine left-hand hook across the grain.

Get over it

Inattentive drivers ...... and riders..... are the norm around these parts. Getting upset about it would leave me neurotic.

Be aware, look after your humble self when riding a small vulnerable machine on the mean streets.
there are old motorcyclists and bold motorcyclists
but you seldom meet an old, bold motorcyclist

Yup. It isn't a contact sport.
