Border 2013

I'll be there with bells on, riding my new beasty 'tiger' leading all the 'rat bags' that follow the great tour leader 'chicky'

The bloke I ride with is self employed and can't spare much time so we usually make it a quick bitumen run staying at pubs and motels, although a few years ago we went via the Strzelecki Track.

We usually leave on a Monday and arrive at the border a bit after midday on the Friday, staying at Ceduna Thursday night.

The most direct way would probably be out through Bourke, Cobar, Broken Hill, Peterborough, Horrocks Pass etc.

Seems like a perfect opportunity to get some kms on my new S10, but its a week before we head off for the TK run, so timing doesn't work this time for me. Enjoy

I am coming up from Melbourne, Mt Gambier, Streaky Bay then the Border Village. Don't know any of you guys so pleased to meet you and see you there. P.S. can you buy beer at the Border? Otherwise it's a dry weekend, no room in the camping gear sadly

No beer available at the Border, you'll have to carry it from Nullabor if you want to have a drink out there...

Best way to buy beer is to get a 6 pack to "take away" and drink it outside. Bar prices for beer are quite exy.

might see you in streaky, I'll be there Friday night coming up from cowell & joining up with a mate there.
If you want sensible conversation you have to talk to Dave's (Ward) dog - Hi Dave
Don't worry about beer someone usually comes with a side car full of beer & sells them on.
