Good on ya SB. It doesn't matter how many spare wheels you take along, (even if they're permanently attached) it's still "doing the Dakar" and we know where your heart lies and that's good enough for this kid.

Yip yip, got the letter of acceptance so we are back for 2014. Unfinished business for David Reeve. He is on the mend and training like a mad thing, although the elephants seem to cause traffic jams first thing in the mornings on his outrides. See you all there hopefully and congrats to the others who also got their letters.

So I'm not sure the protocol for starting the official 2014 Dakar thread so I didnt want to do it but it seems as though 3 months to go... is it too early?

Traditionally its Doyle who starts the official thread, and sometimes it is frustratingly close to the start of the rally itself.

Congratulations to the guys who got your letters. Would love to hear how you are prepping for it.

Any one who can ride an LC8 like that will have fun on a lighter bike. Whats his experience (if any) been like with the Dakar ?

The wheels are a special batch made by Braid for team Xtreme+ to match the stock Polaris hubs & offset, they are tough as

the tyres are EU Kenda's...............not so tough as, punctures are a daily experience
