Soooo, if a guy was going to rent a car in Miami and he and his wife wanted to go to Key West just to check it out would he put his foot to the floor and go straight to the end of the road ? Are there some things I should look forward to on the way there ? Should one stay out of town or spend the bucks to stay right there? I must say I don't really know the size of the place at all. Saw the Keys out the window of a plane one day. That is the bulk of my knowledge.
She and I are not drink till we wobble any more but don't want to risk any driving around. Transit good there as far as hotle/motels to town ?
Thanks?

Anyone know of any good places to ride around Niceville? All the trails I know of are really sandy and I'm looking to learn on something easier that's not too far from home.

I just retired from the Navy and moved to Homestead. I'm going to be using my G.I. Bill to go to MDC to get my RN. I MAY be off-loading my F650GS and getting a smaller, more off-road oriented DS.

There aren't many places to ride an off road oriented ds in SFL. You mght want to keep the 650. I didn't realize how bad it was until moving to CFL last year

Good luck on your education.

Thanks! A lot of my thinking has to do with switching to a lighter, simpler (read: less expensive to fix and maintain) bike, and I won't have a street-only bike if I can only have one. If it was possible, I'd have more than one bike, but I just can't afford it.

Just curious... Is there a Florida Adventure Riders Trail (F.A.R.T.) trail?

The move is getting closer. Any advise on preping for the Florida sand? How about O-Ring chains?

I know there must be a few backroads in the panhandle.

Didn't we ride together at some point? I live in FWB but if you are looking for something NOT as sandy as Eglin join us for a Blackwater ride sometime...

PM me and we can get together.

Got the Turkey Trot coming up Nov 8- 9- &10th so come out and meet up with the PAR gang...

Wakulla County is an interesting place to ride, although it may be cold in January.

Thanks for the post.

I just started to put together my planning thread.

I'll spend most of my time cruzing down the coast and into the Everglades. Then up the Gulf Coast. Check out the Capital, then into Al gulf coast.

How many days does it take to get a Flatistan Campaign ribbon?
If I do all of my out door camping in the Everglades, do you think I'll get my Combat Action ribbon?
