Intermittent failure to start

Here's the problem.
Occasionally the bike will fail to start after a fill up or food break. It acts as if the battery is dead. The gauges do their sweep and the lights work but no crank at all from the starter, nothing at all. The first time I noticed this I was on a sloped parking lot and rolled backwards while the bike was in gear and let out the clutch to stop the bike. I believe this resulted in bumping the gears/starter and I gave it one more try and it fired right up. This has happened many more times over the last year.
On my Arctic Circle trip it happened about 5 times. I got my buddies to push the bike and I would try to bump start it but that never worked. But every time immediately after we tried to bump start it the bike would fire right up with the start button.

Battery is 6 months old and was tested and is good.

Im starting to think it may be the TPS but not sure. I may have been accidentally opening the throttle a bit during the successful startups.

Mine did a similar thing. Got up in the morning and the starter would only give the engine a quick bump. Headlight was bright, etc... I dropped the skid plate and checked all the cables I could get to. Tried a few times, and eventually it fires right up. I shut it off and it fired right up again. Haven't had a problem since.

Check your voltage with a multimeter, the EFI 990s need the voltage.

Maybe (ifyou have one)the GPS or you left the key switch on a little too long?

Not sure but I'd check your batteries voltage first. Even though it's 6 months old who knows how long it sat on the shelf?
