How much did they charge you rusty ???? I've been by-passing that ferry back when it was open----------I bet it's higher than it was then as they had a hard time finding someone to take a contract for the ferry service.

Signed------------cheapskate on a fixed income.

Nah----for $4.99 I can ride around and get more riding in

Thanks for letting us know Rusty----------now we have "options".

Not that long ago me and a buddy rode our bicycles onto the ferry--just before it closed.
We started riding at Kaskaskia state park where our wives dropped us off---they drove to St. Genevieve and we rode the bikes there and met for lunch.
That was really fun and something different to do.

PUCKY HUDDLE BREAKFAST RUN ! aka PHBR. Im posting a link here to the PHBR thread, to see if there is truly an interest. After many days of riding and many nights of cutting and pasting track sections, I think Ive just about got it mailed. Ive posted some pictures and wrote up some info on it. If youre interested let me know, if you think it will suck tell me that too. And sorry for the highjack, Ill go away now.

I'm thinking of riding the blue ridge parkway. I'll be heading out Saturday trying to find a camp site north of Cherokee nc .Ride the parkway it's 469 miles 2 days. Try to camp around afton va. And run I-64 home. It's going to be a quick ride not a lot of time to mess around put it's better then sitting at home. Just seeing if anyone is interested in going along. It's kinda short notice but it kinda fell into my lap.

We rode from Cherokee to Asheville in June be sure to check out some of the side roads and catch a few of the waterfalls.

Here is a map showing some of the road closures.

There is a trailer out back loaded with a couple bikes and at first light wife, dog and I are aiming for Palmer lake.
I'm wondering if riding will pull us away from the lake playing with the dog.....it better.
