After some soul searching, and talking with my wife, I composed an ad to sell mine.
Putting the finishing touches on that. Soon off to the Flea Market.

Hence my decision to begin again. There are a few last little tasks to finish before I plaster the billboards.
But, the decision has been made with no regard to what my heart says. These are just motorcycles.

Oil change and replaced the valve cover gasket. And washed off the oil oil leaking from the gasket. Drank two beers and had a cigar. Was a good night.

Bullshit. Cars are just cars. But motorcycles... It's more intimate.

Yeah, I did that too. You'll notice I'm back.

If you're thinking of switching because you think it will be a better dirt bike, I'd urge you to take one for a spin in the dirt.

I went the other way. Couldn't stand the freeway ride to work on the 800 so I bought the 1200GSA and have no regrets. And that 800gs seat is a torture device

I had to stand on my pegs after 2 hours on the 800. The stock GSA seat I could tolerate for about 6 hours straight. Got me a Sargent for the 800 and now for the GSA.

Interesting... I have a DV trip in the works for October and ALL riders are on singles... with the big 1150, I feel excluded from most tracks... I thought : well, maybe with an 800, I could go a bit further into the desert... Yeti, the 800 is clearly more road than dirt in your opinion?

+1....
Had the 800 and am much happier with my R1200GS. Better all around for me and I ride 50/60% dirt with my R1200 too.

The seat on the F800GS is the worst seat ever put on a motorcycle.

Laugh

Today I DROVE, (I know, I know... ) California Highway 58 for the first time, from Bakersfield to California Valley and back, to head out to a job interview. When I'm hired, the 58 will be my daily commute! Woot!! I'm so stoked! It was a blast in a cheesy econo-box rental car, I cannot wait to RIDE the 58... It was truly epic!
