PG's topbox

Here's the long awaited view of that bad ass box

First off, I bummed these nicely fabricated mounts from a buddy who no longer needed them. He bought a bike with an upholstered pad mounted to his ebay rack...but now i'm using them for my KP trunk box.

Here's a pick with just the bottom and lid:

It takes 30 seconds to pull off the top, add the middle and put the top back on....awesome fit and function!!!

(sorry about that blurry shot...i'll get a better one up here shortly.)

And finally with the most important shot:

"Kirk's Panniers" proudly displayed on the back.

test ride

The test run with the new box was a huge success. The trunk worked out great and remained water tight even with the rain. The only issue I encountered was due to my mount not holding up to the washboard gravel road. So, I'm going to address that and should be better than ever.

This pic was taken at the top of the mountain...after riding a few miles of rocky, rutted, washed out dirt road.

Brilliant idea on the expandable tail box Kirk.
That's one of those things where you say, "I should have thought of that".

Here is one more pic of a recent trip to the Trans Lab,

Bags worked flawless and never leaked a drop in the torrential rains I hit.

Do you have any future plans to become an LLC and start designing mounts again? I have a Buell that could use some bags but nobody makes mounts for it. I guess maybe I could buy some mounts for a Ulysses and modify them a bit. . .

c'mon, Antonio. Is that the best you could do? Jeff wrote a literary masterpiece when he spotted your bike.

Thanks, Kelsow! All the design credit goes to Jeff. He's a pretty sharp feller.

Beautiful photo once again!

I have no immediate plans to LLC. Maybe in the near future...

Order up for Greg's custom KP-1s built to his specifications.

Wait until you see what they're going on. I like it when people step outside of the norm.

Now for something completely different...

Different is good!

How 'bout a VTX1300?

Racked out with custom KP-1s built to customer specs.

I think they look sweet on a cruiser. I've always liked VTXes. After seeing one up close, I can see myself owning one of these in the future. Nice scoot.

Hey Kirk, did you ever end up making a set of paniers for a Honda XR650L? I saw a pic of one in post #143 but the bike only had a top case. If you have will you please post pics? Keep up the good work, your luggage looks AMAZING!
