HMCC ran a couple of awesome meets.
We had cross entered our slugs into the back of Clubmans B, but that got canned by the rules..... oh well, gave Maxheadroom who has crossed to the dark sidecar side a chance to ride a solo .

Barry Sheene Weekend coming up labour weekend. The Aussies are coming.
Been busy getting the house ready for sale so the big plans on the BMW got scaled back.....to a Shorai battery and swapping out the musical Commando pipes for the original 2 into 1.
Took it for a spin up and down the road, seems to work ok.
Heres a pic with its Kuzzy Bro the R90/6.
You would not know they are virtually the same bike riding them.
I wonder how Winnot the Triumph is going

I put the full fairing back on, the horrible 2 into 1 and a Shorai battery and went off to the Barry Sheene weekend.
I entered in 2 classes, Pre 72 and Open Post Classic.
A new mate of mine off the Commando forum organized hiring a covered pit and we had a full on shop coffee machine, toasted sammy maker and even GPS track timing and graphing on smart phones.....fancy eh?

Adrian had his R90/s and Mike was on his recently completed 850 ( TT gearbox too)Commando, Paul had to work, Max Headroom and his missus were entered on a Honda 1000 Sidecar.

The Aussies were here in force for the trans Tasman Series, and the next thing I knew was I was on the team representing NZ. They matched you up with a similar riders qualifying times....
I ended up with Ben from Queensland on a CB350 running on methanol
Oh well I thought and easy 8 points for the Aussies....
however...... two DNF's and a stuffed top end changed all that.
I felt sorry for Ben coming all that way, should have brought a Bavarian Tractor.

Adrian now leaves me waaaay behind and has become a Norton botherer.... at laps of 1.24, to my 1.28.

The BT45s as good as they have been are now being retired in favour of race Avons.
Weather was mint, my most fun was in pre 72 battling it out with the CB 350s and F3 bikes.
Nothing beats taking a Japper on the outside of a corner on a BMW, then they pass you on the straight and you go around them again
Did a bit of head scraping, I might go to supercheap and get some curb spring things for the heads...
Max got some good times on the sidecar, and even got the wheel in the air and a 360 on the track.

no, the reason they had a bad rep was poor assembly, ball bearing bottom ends that did not like the flex you get with the crank.
Of course the more power you get the less Norton parts are used.
He has made me look at motor #2 for the beamer.

Guzzis....

One went past the other day reasonably quickly. It sounded HARD. It reminded me of the hot one ridden by Brendan Ryan at the Port races.

What's happening in those engines that makes it sound like sledgehammers are striking steel beams? They don't burble, growl, howl or rumble - they kinda bang,

Anyone know?

Okay Volty, what's the plan & where did this one come from? Looks a failed Cafe Racer project? R65 or R45 (I know you had a stash of R45 parts).

Tony how are those flatslides working out for you? Did you see on the CtC we met up with Garry from Taupo who passed on his regards.

Twin discs? Wow

If you decide to get rid of those pipes & put your peashooters on let me know how much you want for them.
