Just reread this again and couldn't even recognise Scmidt from when I bought it. I realised that I've had schmidt for 2 years now.

I noticed you have dealt with the sidestand issue I am having probs with. Have you got any more pics of it?

How have all the mods held up? Any changes done or planned?
Do you still have the bike?:lol3

My mount for the stide stand is still hanging in there well. It's a pretty brutal approach and was never meant to be the final design but I haven't yet done anything with it. I think it's a little high when extended so makes the bike lean over a bit too far. But its come in handy on uneven ground a couple of times so its not too bad.

Bikes going strong and is my primary commuting transport.
I still havent made a proper front gaurd or built a decent exhaust system and have all but abandoned the flat slide mikunis. I still love the way it looks and recon its bedded in nicely. A mate said the other day he thought all the parts looked like one bike now that they've aged together.
I made another rear engine cover and a mate now has my original one on his project bike. I may still tool up properly and make a run of them.
One of these days I'll get it to a point where I can take some good photos and send them into bike EXIF or pipeburn. One of the photos from this build blog was picked up and put on Le Container blog, which was cool.

    Cool.

I bet your inbox is hot with people wanting to take your mikunis off your hands:D

If you get time this weekend could you please take some pics of your sidestand bracket? It looks just what I need to do.

I love this build, the bike and the photography of it but we need some more of the "finished" product!

It's only been a couple of years so you can't expect it to be finished yet!

She now has about 13K kms under her belt since the rebuild.
I've had one electrical issue - I hadn't added a resister in the charge charge circuit to make up for the led dash light not having the resistance of the stock bulb.
Carb issues - I put the flat slides asside for the meantime and returned to the bings but made pull chokes on each carb using old mikuni knobs.
Handling - I have recently lowered the bike by shortening the forks by 40mm and winding back the preload on the white power rear shock. - I also repainted the red spring to black.
Recently replaced the worn TKC80 tyres with Pirelli MT90's - smooth running!

had to reread the thread again - bloody inspiring too.
I am looking at rear guards, headlites etc for berlina. Gotta put the engine back together & get it rolling 1st.

Yo know you should really get into design work. I reckon you could win some awards with your talents:D

Are you going to paint it? I wouldn't:deal

Initially I was planning to build it, test it, strip it and paint everything. Then I got the tank! I then decided to make sure everything was sound and about to rot away but keep the patina of the tank.

I am looking for an alloy front guard for it and thinking about going to a 7" headlight, maybe a 19" front wheel off a R1200GS (same spoke setup)...........

That's funny cos I was looking at your headlite thinking I'd like to go smaller.
Interesting to see if you get hold of an alloy front guard.

    Boxer Odyssey,
What type of bars are those? Been looking all over for that type. Nice project you have there.

    Hello,

I bought the bars from http://www.ventura-bike.com/products/streetbar.aspx . I think they are VH9S but might be VH7s.
I cut them down in width and painted them as they only came in chrome.
    Cheers.
