New Tag

Peanut wired to base of marker. This is now a twofer. The Tag/key from South Alabama Historical Tag-o-Rama is also here.

Yep, I know where this is...will give others a chance to find it and tag it before I haul off to get them...Good idea to make it a "twofer" to get others to play the historical tag as well...

ok. Did I see correctly that the historical tag also has a token like the peanut? A brass key? Both of these tokens are located with this tag?

If I tag this, are my options?

1. make two new tags, one historical and one "other". Place the peanut and key correctly and make two different posts ( one in each forum)

2. Move only one forum tag, leaving the other for some one else to move.

3. Make one new tag for both forums at another historical marker and place both tokens in the same place again. (again posting the same tag in both forums).

keeping them together seems reduntant.

Ideally, the idea is to place each token in whichever location you choose for the "peanut" in the SATOR area, and place the "key" at a historical marker, monument, building, etc...in the SATOR area excluding N FL...the reason for placing it at the same location this time. Is to entice taggers to start playing the historical tag...seems no one but myself and BorreC were playing the historical tag...there are hundreds of historical type locations within the boundaries of the SATOR area encompassing some really good roads and we learn a little along the way...

New Tag.

This tag is at the end of a 1/3 mile dirt and sand road. No problem on my bike when dry.
The peanut is attached to the gate on the right, near the no trespassing sign.

This is a closer look at the sign.

Wet Tag Grab

Didn't tell us about the four attack dogs . On my way back out, one of the little buggers ran sideways backwards knawing on my front tire. Literally. I saw him run up on my left side and come across in front of me, but didn't realize he was biting my tire, I thought I was hitting ruts or something till I stood up and looked over the fairing and there he was assailing my tire! They followed me all the way back out to the paved road. (I''m not complaining, it was fun teasing/torturing the dog and all four were little critters).

Met one of the kids that lives down there at the plant (couple camping trailers laying around) and got a tour of the place. Won't be too many more years till the far side of the dam gives way and according to him, they will close the power plant down. I think he said there are three generators producing there now. He's kind of a caretaker, didn't catch his name, but nice enough young kid out on a four wheeler. They had just cleaned the flow gates today of all the rubbish thats been collecting and blocking to flow to the generator house. The camper in the upper left of the picture is a 5th wheel belonging to a guy there doing some retrofitting on the generators. He and his wife travel around doing these upgrades, staying at or near the power stations. they were cooking over an open pit fire tonight, I didn't get an invite to dinner. Smelled good.

Good spot, enjoyed riding out, even in the afternoon rainstorm.

Be a nice piece of property to own once it is no longer a power plant.

Nice shot of the temporary pond:

New Tag

Seeing as how it was raining and all, I didn't spend too much time finding a new tag location (that's a hint by the way). Peanut is on the top of the right corner fence post.

Not my place to give clues, but using what's in the photo.....
there's not that many streets with sidewalks in that little town.
The building next to it looks like it may be spanish design,,, flat roof maybe.
and the roof line on this house is parallel with the street...
so if you have google earth, about 10 minutes of scrolling...

John65 has some good stuff in his post.

The building to the left is an old abandoned municipal building.
