This is it. As a kid, the bicycle gave me more range than my feet. The moto is nearly dreamlike access. Like flying low but able to stop anywhere and check things out. Gives you the power to ascend 5,000', then start walking. I love the ride, the rhythm, but to put your feet on the ground and sense where it's brought you is nirvana. Then you see the critters, the flowers, detail and nuance. Wash brain, and ride again.

Looks like an awesome place to ride. I'd love to make a trip out west just to see it one day.

Nice work there!!! Water crossings are intimidating. I love that area. Great first ride report.

Soooo jealous of you guys who live in the PNW. Living in flatland Illinois means no amazing vistas like you have!

I'll make it out there, some day, to ride!

Well done, Linds... great report and pictures!

nice report ladies and looks like you had a lot of fun!!

If you want to study up on the proper way to dump your bike for no apparent reason while just riding along I suggest you get a copy of either "Long Way Round" or "Long Way Down" and study Ewen McGregor's technique!

It seems he is a Jedi Master at dumping a bike.

Ha ha, it was only my third time riding off of pavement! It was probably best that I didn't really know what I was getting myself into up there... Because as I look back on it... it was SKETCHY. !

I too am guessing that your tip overs were due to using the front brake. Try sticking with the rear brake and engine braking. I also fall over when I am tired.
