I found it interesting at Unadilla that as at every National after the riders meeting they had a quick 15 minute "service" and of all people RV pulled up in his UV and sat through it. I mean he hears this stuff every week and obviously made it a point to be there AFTER the riders meeting, and they always have Sunday off so if the sport is producing a by product of pious people I suppose it could be worse. Personally I think Dungey and Canard are poster boys for how you'd want your kids to turn out. God knows mine didn't quite follow the straight and narrow...

Spoke too soon, track getting dusty in spots. RV wins again and Weston Peick (sp?) continues to impress.

Track not as bad as I thought it would be. Looking forward to Pulpmx podcasts and Monday night's Pulpmx show. Generally get some behind the scenes info that the TV network or Internet can't provide.

Can somebody spell out what's wrong with the track? All I got is Internet. Vids yesterday on racerx didn't look to bad, looked fast. Did all that dirt turn to shit or what. I'm not a big super cross track fan but at least it was outdoors.

Too fast.
Blind jumps, dusty, different soil all over(not natural)
Not much passing.

This mixture may work indoors but its not working outdoors.

These guys are going way to fast.
Lets just hope someone doesn't get really f'd up.

Thanks for that. I like fast but not to the point where somebody is gonna get f'd up bad in a get off. Saw some pretty hard crashes last weekend at Unadilla, when it takes minutes to get up and back on the bike its not good. Everybody was sayin how smooth Tomac was last week but I swear that guy was on the verge of crashin at any given moment along with alot of other riders with the speed they were movin. I don't really wanna jump on the trash Utahs track bandwagon but these guys are pros and can provide us with some good racin if they r not injured or dead. It aint about the money, but I dont have a dog in the fight, just the $40 spectator entry fee.

Yeah the dirt really sucked in my opinion. I liked the high speed layout but that dusty crap they had for dirt isn't up to the task of handling it. High speed and off-road is still dangerous mix no matter what.

If you're going to have big jumps you've gotta have some air time and wow factor. All of the big jumps were uphill and just didn't have it. I'm wondering if they designed it that way to help tame the crazy power modern 450s make. The general view from TV made everything the riders were doing seem so small and slow. Probably would have been more fun to watch in person depending on the seats.

It was built on flat ground but I don't think that's much of an excuse. The practice track at Englishtown, NJ was built on flat ground and it was a blast to ride. Good dirt and varied terrain / obstacles is all it took to make a decent MX track. It was a good mix of high speed, mid speed and low speed sections with varying sized jumps.

I thought the racing was decent though. There were some pretty sweet passes made.
