Signed up Friday night! This will be my first one, and I'm super excited. Any local guys near my area that may be looking to split a camp site? I haven't booked one yet, but I'm happy to make the reservation for a site. I would just like to split costs with another rider if possible.

I'll probably want to split a camp site. I did last year, but then ended up riding home instead to change bikes.

Well shoot me a PM. If you reserve it I can bring you money, or vise versa. Just let me know. And since you're in Richmond I'm happy to ride out together if you want to as well. I don't work Fridays so I will probably make my way out in the morning to do some exploring before hitting the camp site.

My wife and kids want to tag along in the RV and hang out at the campground during the day. Does anyone know if historically there have been other kids hanging out during the day? I see that they have a playground and some trails. I just don't want them getting bored. (They can always throw in a DVD but that defeats the purpose)
If I take my DRZ instead of the GS, which I will probably do, I may let one of the kids ride pillon for a while. Does the route typically take you far from the campground or could I feasibly take one of my kids for a 1-2 hour ride and drop them back off at the campground with mom?

You could easily run your children up to Reddish Knob (if you're not wiped out from the ride) in an hour or two. Awesome 360 view from up there and a different ecosystem.

Meet at lunch time then they can see everyone come in. Swap kids, drop off, etc ... Just let the organizers know ahead of time if extra lunches r needed

in again this year

all registered and looking forward to another great ride.

I've lost track of how many SH500's I've done, but none of them were a bad one. Even have a couple of friends coming this year for their first one.
