#42 smith KAW wins the indy mile

imagine my surprise .
and next weeks race is
a 1.25 mi track length~

umm,
guessing that aint gonna hurt
smiths chances at winning again.
not bitching about anybody having
any kind of advantage, cept maybe ..
the thousand's of dollars spent by crosley
to develop that rocket ship.folks want to see
good close action. and not just for 2nd thru 6th place.
on another note.. the AMA streaming live timing was great.
props to those guys for doing something positive for our sport.

Yes it is ridiculous how much faster the Crosley bike was/is. They really need to even the playing field. Hopefully Baker can hold on for the championship. He is in good hands with the Athertons wrenching for him.

I said it before, time for harley to build something competitive, not punish others who worked and built a faster bike. Other bikes will step up, but they probably wont be harleys. Time moves on, a 1972 motorcycle aint gonna cut it anymore. Congrats to Smith for an awesome win, and the harley whiners can cry in thier junk beer

I agree but you know HD. It probably will not take the rest of the season before HD is granted a larger restrictor hole.

Might help them a bit, but the writing is on the wall, gonna be less and less harleys, cost too much to run and maintain. Lots of kawis in the main last night!!

Exzacktly! How many years have Harleys won every heat, semi, trophy dash and main?
Its enough already, time moves along even in flattrack racing.
Yeah the Kawis are getting fast and there's more of them,so it goes.
The XR750 was designed in about 1972. It costs a bunch of $ to keep a huffing Harley engine alive on a Mile track, people will see the light and build other things. Harley itself likes cruisers, its what sells.

By all means take the restrictors off the Harleys,it might be too late for that to help much at this point.
The main thing is having a good show!

You guys forgot how fast Scotties XR was without a restrictor plate..... They would eat up those little Kaws if they allowed them to run without them again. Keep it like it is if we can.

Headed to Colonial Downs Mega Mile in New Kent, Virginia in a bit. The track is 1.25 miles and should provide some fantastic high speed racing. Mikey Martin National #91 recorded over 130 mph in a media day demonstration this week on his Bonneville Performance Factory Triumph. Should be a good gig!

Good to see more miles (mega or otherwise) on the schedule with the return of Colonial Downs. Hope the event is a big success. Any announcements about streaming video? I enjoyed watching the Indy Mile live.
