Well, so far MM has crashed out of the race just once. I remember Stoner crashing out once last year as well. And while I cannot be arsed to check, I would not be too surprised, if MM right now has more victories, and more points scored, than Stoner did at this point last year. Not 100% comparable, but it is amazing, that this Spaniard is still a rookie. He´s gonna leave others to sort out 2nd place for many years.

Watching Moto2 riders at Indi, it was amazing how many of them were backing those bikes into tight corners. I am not talking a small step out of the back wheel, but a full blown slide. When they started running flying laps at the end of practice sessions and qualifying it was noticeably different even compared to the MotoGP class. This style of riding seems to have arrived in the GP class more so with MM than others reading these comparisons. In my opinion, it speaks volumes how good these riders are moving up from Moto2 when you watch MM.

Moto2 races have been very fun to watch this season.

I think Pedrosa's bike moves around just as much. Maybe it was Casey Stoner who brought that style. Both Dani and MM are pretty loose with the handlebars and the motorcycle looks pretty twitchy in the apexes and on corner entry. I like when they lift the front wheel a couple inches on the drive and it cocks to the right. Only the two Repsol Honda's seem to do that as far as I can tell. Both pilots seem to be working hard all the time, while Jlo looks half asleep. I know he isn't, though.

Moto2 races have been very fun to watch this season.
Those that know say it is the very unsophisticated spec slipper clutch that causes/allows the bikes to back it in so much.

Marc has brought a bit of that style forward to Moto GP. They all used to do it in the 990 era.

Moto 2 has always been good. They have matured quite a bit that last year or so. I always point to the 2011 race at Aragon. If you have a Moto GP pass and you haven't seen it before, do yourself a favor.

Was that the one with Iannone and a few others fighting at the front the whole time? Iannone took it at the line?

What's he doing now? Hmmm, it would be nice to see him develop a team and a rider, show the sponsors a return before jumping to the premier class an not have all his bikes in a row!

I'm just watching the races from my couch but it looks to me that MM is using way less traction control? While I still miss the 250cc bikes I always look forward to watching Moto2 it's great racing.

Watching the Brno MotoGP race yesterday, MM looked like he was back in Moto2. He was clearly allowing the rear to drift wide going into many corners to get the bike turned.

It was made more obvious by the fact that JLo and DP weren't.

And his race smarts are just getting better with each race. When he REALLY gets comfortable and further improves his setup- everyone else is going to be racing for 2nd. Looking at #99 and #26 at the post-race Q & A- they are starting to look like deer in the headlights.
