Team Ghetto Heads West

6 Ghetto Heads ride Colorado and Utah From 9/8-9/2*

Awhile back I was asked If I would like to ride Utah. Immediate answer was "In" This is something I've been wanting to do for awhile. A few other inmates were asked and we wound up with a total of 6.5 ghetto heads going.. No the .5 isn't AWM*, He pussied out... Anyway it's time for the introductions...

* AWM did not actually pussy out. It just sounded better then he never answered the pm invite

The cast

Bk. Rd .Rnr (Observer)

Boatman (Fording Expert)

Kenny61 (For entertainment purposes only)

Loph917 (Route Planner)

Thereisnospoon (Refreshements and Stunt director)

Xmoto (house bitch)

barry (Scapegoat)

The Script

Saturday September 7th.... , load up and on the road by noon.

Sunday meet up with Spoon and Xmoto at the Denver airport. And should be in Buena Vista in the evening.

Monday September 9 - Wednesday 11th... riding the Rockies

Thursday 12th... head to Moab, about a 4 hour drive... maybe get some afternoon riding in.

Friday September 13th (hope no one is superstitious) - Wednesday 18th... ride Moab.

Thursday 19th... time to head back to the real world...

Locations

For the first part of the trip we will be renting a house In Buena Vista Colorado. Once I discovered that the house had a secret room hidden behind a closet door I promptly called dibs on it. I will now be able to proudly announce every morning that I am coming out of the closet! I can't wait!!!

Scene 2 will have us staying at a condo In Moab. As I only see double beds at this place I am hoping my "Out of the closet" outbursts in colorado will still allow me to have a bed to myself

Equipment

2 Husaberg 390's
1 Ktm 690
1 Honda XR650l
1 Husaberg 570
1 Honda XR650R

Bottle opener
3 Video Cameras
2 Still Cameras
2 Rubber Ducks

I'm guessing we would be in the Salida Ranger District and found this page http://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/psicc...12406&actid=93 with links to the trails that show if they are open or closed and difficulty ratings . I like tat some of them are single track and open to two wheeled vehicles only

I just realized that I forgot to order the CO OHV sticker, since it says 7-10 days for delivery, I'll have to get one onsite, when we get there. I saved the website for reference.

The Yamaha dealer is only a couple miles away from where we are staying. I may be going there too,,,, can't find mine.

New tires mounted. No pinched tubes. I'm getting better at this tire mounting shit.

Fresh brake pads installed. Did you know the pins go in a certain direction so they are recessed and the ends of the pins don't go ting-ting-ting against the spokes? I do now. I thought I bent the caliper mount there for a while.

ORV sticker sitting on my desk. Will need to wash Hancock mud off first before applying aforementioned sticker.

Clutch feels squishy. Fluid in reservoir. May need to bleed properly.

To install: clutch slave cover/protector. kickstand. decide on installing new levers or bring as spares.

I'm ready to go now.

Hey,,,, true Ghetto fashion,,,,, free as long as you don't mind a little inperfection!!

I'm too cheap to pay for something like that.

In other news,,,,, my bike still sits in the back of the shop. Things to do on it include but not limited to: air filter clean, change tires and tubes, change gearing (still need to order cs sprocket), figure out where the hell I'm mounting a tool kit, wash off the mud from the last time I rode it about 2 months ago, headlight swap, oil change (10 hrs overdue).......

You just made me feel better. I'm down to; oil/ reinstall filter, change engine oil, install new chain when it arrives, mount on-bike luggage/ kit.

I was thinking about gearing down. Should I be doing so?
