Planning Tecate Hare Scramble then 2 days small bike Rancho Santa Veronica - Advice

I am planning on racing the Tecate Hare Scrambles on December 7th. When I went last year, I heard there was great single track around where we will be staying at Rancho Santa Veronica. Anybody got the low down on the area? Racing Saturday and then trails on Sunday and Monday.

I will have a group of B/A riders on 250/450 with around 60 miles range. Maybe more if we pack gas. We are looking for primarily single track, but fully understand the need for road, especially for a cool destination along the way. I am open to riding back towards Tecate, or towards any direction for fun trails. I thought about a run to Mikes Sky Ranch, but it seems it would be fire road dominant for a newbie.

Any advice on trails and what you feel would be cool to hot for a couple days is appreciated. GPS tracks or if you wanted to meet us out there would be cool too. Please PM off you prefer.
