MT43 I want to say? They did great today - rode up Middle Mountain and a bit of the Dark Creek loop over by Vallecito. Hopped logs, bounced on some rocks, did not fall over.

Rode up east of Mancos yesterday and saw turkeys, ptarmigan, and had a close encounter with a bobcat on trail. All in all, a really fun weekend in the 4 Corners.

Bobcats are fun!! Sounds like you had a good ride. I had to work all weekend except today. Went to junction on my KLR via Grand Mesa and returned via hey 141 through Gateway down to Nucla then cut across the uncompahgre plateau back to Montrose. Just pulled in a few minutes ago. Saw bucks and porcupines but no bobcats this time...

Is that a big bike ride or a small bike ride? I might be interested if it is a small bike ride (i.e. ok for a two stroke?). I would like to get an early start.

Hey Jude. Small bike. I'm taking my WR 450. There is some single track that's supposed to be pretty good up there. Should be fun. As early as you like.

I am so tempted to ride this one with you... We'll see how the schedule shakes out. :)

I'm on hiatus this weekend - family visiting - hoping to hit Silverton w/ the 4WD with them (secretly scouting ).

Still need to try the new Pirellis in the sand.

What are you driving? I'll be around animas forks tomorrow with my gf. We'll be in a red dodge diesel with my WR in the back.

Hi - if we go up, it will be in a totally non-descript grey X-Terra that has temp tags on it (it's new-ish). I couldn't pick it out of a lineup. Maybe I should start putting my moto stickers on the back window.

I'll keep a watch for your vehicle, though.

Where in La Plata?? I'd give you a call but it might be past your bedtime. :) (Don't hurt me, I'm just kidding). :) I thought it might be a bit late to call, though.

Weekend Plan.

So what is the plan for the weekend? Burro driver and I think that Stoney Pass is going to be too muddy to ride. Do people still want to chance it? I am not thrilled about the idea of getting stuck in a downpour at 11,000 feet.
