RPM was my go to shop when I lived in NS 2 Years ago, especially for safety! Drove 2 1/2 hrs to get my GasGas EC300 checked.

Given the recent conversation about local dealer recommends, should I assume that RPM is a go-to, or is there another or better option to satisfy the provincial gov't tax grab?

Thanks in advance. Looking forward to finding some other ADV'ers in the 'hood.

Stopped in today, and true to the press, good bunch 'o guys. That being said, I have to re-install my chain guard and put some damn licence plate light on in the next 10 days before I go back for a re-certification. The bike was fine in Ontario

Borrow a guard if you can from someone local on dualsport (dot) ca then take it off once passed.

not-quite-a-ride-report

I have spent the last day and a half trying to put down some words about my Maritime Meandering 2013 Tour - but ended up with something that is not quite a ride report...

Anyway, if you are interested, here is the link:

http://advrider.com/forums/showthrea...1#post22115081

I had a great time, and will be cross-posting this one to both the Winnipeg/Surrounding Area and the Northern Rider forums, as I want the folks I met to know how much their help was appreciated....

I had thought about going today, however the Severe Thunderstorms have me hiding under the bed with the cat. He won't share the toys.

Hey,
I live in Bridgetown NS, joined the forum maybe last month. I am getting a Honda C70 Passport on the road. I know its not a true dual sport or adventure bike but it does quite well on mild trails, and it was free which helps.
Just did some carb work on it today and took it on a short trip towards bridgewater from nictaux on the old rail line, and down some of the side trails.

Are there any planned trips happening next summer looking for riders? I'm looking for some excitement, preferrably in the 7-10 day timeframe.

I'd be running a modded KLR650 and have plenty experience in the dirt. I've just never done anything more than local and would like to get out and see a bit of the Maritimes. I've got a bit of experience doing long haul riding on street bikes (PEI, CBI, NB) but nothing on the KLR.

Should I just plan something myself? Any recommendations? Maybe the stereotypical Trans-Lab or the Rock?

Tan/camo! That's the one. My bike is currently down for maintenance for the winter but should be good to go in the spring. I'll likely be painting the bike but I'm not sure what direction I'm taking with it yet. Too much planned and not enough time to do it.

Also, I've hooked up with the boys planning another Ride the Rock trip in August 2014 so looking forward to that.

N.b.

Hey guys, I am in Miramichi N.B.
I just mailed a deposit on a 2009 F800GS! Doing a Fly-n-Ride next month from Sudbury. So stoked, wanted one of these for a while.

I currently have a 2003 VFR800A, 1974 CB360 Café Racer that I built in 2011 (I know that can mean almost anything but it's quite nice) and a 1990 VTR250 that I play with only at Shubenacadie! Riding most of my life and I ride/race bicycles a lot too.

This is as close as we have to a NB grouping.
There is a NB dual sport assn. (NBDSA). Google that and rideatlantic.ca.
Should put you in some good company.

If I still had every dollar I spent on motorbikes I would be a richer man but a poorer person.

It really seems like the Maritimes as a whole are not well represented in the ADV community. We exist, but we're spread out so thin on various forums that we are all unable to cooperate collectively.
