Thanks for checking in and thanks for sharing the great pictures. Glad to hear your adventure continues. We were really missing your ride reports up here in Connecticut. Been following you since you left the California.

Awesome! That spot looks familiar

Glad to hear you are still rolling! I'm holed up in eastern Kentucky, following the girl but leaving the bike behind in SF. We got one two-week half-TAT trip 2up at the end of summer but it won't be until next year that we can head south again...

Suerte,
Jeff

Awesome Trip

Just spent the last day or so soaking in this ride report and all I can say is... awesome!!! That is basically how I'd envision travelling for a long distance/long periods of time. Thanks for taking the time to update us and for putting this together.

Buen viaje

Great report, the cow burger pics bring it to a whole other lever. Subscribed.

Thanks for the kind words guys. I'm organizing my Belize and Guatemala photos presently, so they'll be up soon.

I really like the compact size and weight of the tent, which is why I selected it. When the ground is hard or rocky it can occasionally be a bit of a challenge to set it up, because the stakes have to be in. But it's reasonably spacious and when staked in well can hold up to a blow.

Here's a camp site from last week:

I would surely like to see some photos (albeit one) of your gear and tools just before you pack it into your panniers.

Thanks for the reports. You are definitely living the dream!
Great tent by the way, and I am VERY relieved that your rides have reached a significant level of maturity. I, myself like to live on the wild adventure side, but the very first report you did in Baja gave me the creeps...

My favourite photo in this report has to be the panoramic one on the volcano.

Regards, and thanks for putting your XR to good use.

Wow how cool to see you are still down there living it up. I remember starting to read your RR back in 2009 and was pleasantly surprised to see it had been updated. You really are living to the Max right now. Cant wait to get back out there.

Any chance of a report soon? Maybe some Belize and Guatemala photos? Even a sentence would be good. Hope you are enjoying.

Thanks for the pin-poke guys!

It's been quite a while since I've put up anything about my biking. The ADV crew has fallen off the radar of daily life, although not intentionally. However, I hear someone heard my ADV handle at a moto-cafe here in Guatemala recently and knew who I was - that made me feel pretty cool.

I made it to Panama, back up to Guatemala, and have had a hell of a time along the way. The "trip" continues and I'll catch up here eventually.

I'm currently preparing for the last race of the Guatemalan National Enduro Series.

Me last race:

Peace and grease.

Thumb keepin on

Cool stuff man! Some of my best memories are from riding in gnarly mud on bad ass trails in tropical countries, if only for a day or week here and there. I bought the Buccaneer from you a few years ago and sold it about two years later, in the midst of working in a cubicle for 6 years. Got laid off and figuring out my next chapter, and could possibly use your web expertise.

Years ago a Guatemalan guy wanted to buy an 85 xr600 I was selling to take back home for racing up Volcano. He kept trying to offer me $300, so no sale, but it sounded like they love those big XRs down there!
