I once did a roadside coolant hose replacement on an ST1100, the hoses that failed were in the valley between the cylinder heads, under the carburetors. There wasn't a Honda dealer anywhere nearby (and even if there had been, it was Sunday), so I got a ride to Autozone where I matched bends and diameters with stuff off the shelf and hacked out the bits I needed, IIRC the whole job cost <$50. Those hoses went a couple more years before the bike was wrecked in a crash.

At least it was a nice day...
