If it's anything like what the State did after the small fire we had at Carnegie several years ago it'll be a few years.

Hopefully they open up after winter. I just want to check it out sometime. There are tons of fireroads out there that don't have gates.

Looks like they closed EVERYTHING down the rest of the year (Hwy 108 to 140).

http://inciweb.org/incident/article/3660/21494/

It is dated until 12/31/13. I have a feeling it will be extended past that date.

Crandal Peak/Deer Creek is still open, as are the roads between Beardsley Reservoir and Highway 4. Between 180 and 120 is pretty much devastated and/or closed.

Thats a real bummer we were up there 2 months ago staged in the forest and rode to the valley and over to Hetch Hetchy ... shame to see a lot of it will be gone on our next trip.

I've been wanting to go see the remains of the Bourland Trestle for a while but never got around to it. I wonder if it burned.

I was surprised the closure went all the way down to 140, I knew the fire jumped 120 but I didn't think it went too far south from there. I rode Old Yosemite Road last spring, definitely have to do a recon of the area next year.

That really sucks. Looks like I'll be spending some more time in the Italian Bar Road area...

That's a fun fast loop from Twain Harte to Columbia.

I never thought of that, but it was in the path of the fire. Bourland creek runs into the Clavey right below it. Glad I have pictures.
