Congrats.

[/QUOTE]

I think you guys are bound to be married for quite some time. You'll have to go to the the Antarctic circle to file for a divorce.

Just sayin'

Jibby.

Ill continue with the story soon. Been busy lately. Started school and we just bought 2 bikes.

I already made some jokes if we get divorced. "It started out cold, and ended the same way." Natalie didnt like that lol.

Thanks for all the well wished.

I subscribed after the clutch fix post and am glad I did 'cause that surprise twist at Prudhoe made my day. Kind of a no-brainer there after all you've toughed out together just in this one trip! Congratulations to you both and best wishes for the many adventures to come

Day 24

Coldfoot to Fairbanks

We head back to fairbanks!

We get pushed off the side of the road twice to let big stuff come by.

Waiting for construction. Picture is in vivid mode on the camera.

Get back to Fairbanks and we stay at the dorms again.

Miles: 250

Day 25

Fairbanks to Tok

In the morning we go to Adventure Cycleworks to get new brake pads and he safety wires the exhaust on because the springs disappeared. I really hate the two brother exhaust, to loud!

Outside of Fairbanks is North Pole, AK.

A bit of a bore ride to Tok. We already did it before.

We stay at Eagle Claw Campground again and had a blast. Love the place.

Miles: 200

It's funny that you replaced a clutch in a parking lot but took it to a shop to replace break pads and wire the exhaust

Day 26

Tok to Dawson City

We meet up with Mike, who is from Canada in the Tok campground and go with him across the top of the world highway.

He goes off to get gas and we go to a the market to get lunch food. There is only one market in town. We see him leave the gas station and turn the wrong way. I try to chase him but he gets to far ahead. I go back and keep waiting at the market. After getting a couple miles out of town, Mike turns around and meets us.

Here is the Mike behind us on the start of the top of the world highway.

The road is rough and it turns in the dirt. A mile into the dirt road we hit a town called Chicken.

Got a dragon fly! Hes dead.

The town has a bar, gift shop, and a gold dredger. Thats it

Bar

Attack Chickens

We eat the food we bought at the grocery store and order a beer.

We check out the gold dredger

Natalie with the camera

She likes stuff thats purple.

We get on the bikes and start the 100 miles of dirt road to Dawson City.

We stop to wait for Mike a couple times. Here is me testing out my camera skills. I suck,

I go to pass this RV and a caribou is running down the road.

We hit some rain. It starts pouring, then it starts to hail. It hurt. We speed up to go through it faster. No issues with traction.

We cross the border into the Yukon. This is the most northernly border in the US.

We stop just past the border to wait for Mike. Below us is the border. I lay down and relax.

The rest of the way is easy dirt road with some chip seal sections.

Dawson City!

We set up camp on the other side of the Yukon River. We split the campsite with Mike.

We take the free ferry across the river to the town.

DRINKING TIME!

We go into this bar. It is around 8 pm right here.

This bar has......a....special thing to do......

Toe!!

I look nerdy.

With this drink, you get a cocktail, we got whiskey, and you put the toe in it. The saying is "You can drink it fast, you can drink it slow-- But the lips have gotta touch the toe"

Natalie does it.

This is why I dont take pictures.

Mike did it first. I wanted to make sure he didnt die before I did it.

We then go wander the town and go to a can can show in a casino.

11pm

We find a bar where they are having an open mic night. Glad I dont live here.

We heard the midnight can can show is sexier. So we go to that.

Not really a can can show anymore.

Head back to the campground across the ferry. Its 2 am.

Day 27
We get packed up and leave around noon.

We decide to go down the dempster highway to tombstone park.

Its another dirt road.

We get to tombstone and each lunch at the visitors center.

We go a bit further and then turn around. We were tired of dead end roads,

I see this and slam on the brakes. See the bear?

I stop after him and he walks behind us. He was chillin.

We then get back on the top of the world highway and Natalie give me the motion to stop. She said turn around because there was a bald eagle right next to the road. So I turn around and it is right there on a log. Natalie cant take a picture of it fast enough and it flies away.

We track it up the river and it stops on a tree. It is hard to see because it is super far away. I couldnt even see it.

This is with 20x optical zoom and full digital zoom. That eagle is BIG!

Now we are just trying to make time to Calgary because my dad got us a hotel there in a couple days.

We made it to outside whitehorse.

Day 28
So we ride into Whitehorse and go wash the bike at the pressure washer.

We see that our aftermarket exhaust separated.

Because we lost the springs that keep it on, the rattling cause the rivets to sheer. We go into town and talk to a harley mechanic. He quotes us an hour and a half to dirll some holes, re rivet, and change the rear tire. So we pull off the tire and exhaust and go to Boston Pizza. Has the same vibe as TGIFridays in the states.

The exhaust fixed and we go to a hardware store and get new springs. It ended up taking a hour. 100 bucks for a tire change and exhaust fix. Very reasonable.

We seperated from Mike in dawson city. We ran into him and a Tim Hortons in whitehorse. He ended up leaving before us to Watson Lake. We caught up to him right outside Watson Lake at construction.

We were pretty tired but we wanted to get to Liard Hot Springs.

We run into some buffalo.

We get to Liard Hot Springs. It is a private campground and I get instructions to park at an available spot and walk to the front to pay. (20 bucks or so). So I stop at a spot and unload the bike and send Natalie to go pay. Well a truck with a toyhauler sits right outside the entrance to my site. A ranger comes over and tells me that this guy already payed for the site.

I already had the tent set up and all my gear off. This guys wasnt going to take my spot. Ended up finding out that the guy did a trip around the campground and stopped at the entrance to pay. The ranger was on my side and the other RV luckily had the last spot to go to. idiot.

After that drama we head to the hot springs!

Felt goooood!

Day 29
Liard Hot Springs to Someplace after Fort Nelson.

Mucho lake

See a mountain goat and turn around to take some pics. This is the best we could get.

We keep on going and run into a bunch of them.

Lots of construction today. Eat lunch at Dawson creek.

Ended up getting a private campground.

Worst bug day.

Miles: 400ish

Day 30

Fort Nelson to Grand Prairie

So we get up in the morning and have our usual breakfast. Get packed up and Natalie has to help me back up the bike. I start yelling "STOP STOP STOP STOP". She pushed me into a mud puddle.

Barely made it out alive.

This is a long day of riding.

Not many pictures.

Ended up sleeping at a free campground.

Miles: 350.

The next days to come: Banff, Glacier, Yellowstone!
