Blah, remember when Toyota got busted for engine infractions early on in their NASCAR foray?
Yeah, most everyone else forgot too.

This isn't the first intentional caution flag caused by a driver, and it won't be the last.

I recall Michael Waltrip being one of the drivers that got busted for that, no? Something to do with fuel additives.

It was MW and called the "Jet Fuel Saga"

The intake manifold was found to have an illegal fuel additive inside it. Two on the team were suspended indefinitely, one fined $100,000, loss of 100 owner and driver points.

It was the debut race for Toyota Racing in the Nextel Cup level.

Lee White, senior vp @ TRD said that being disparaged publicly prior to their first race was not welcome and they hold their people to a higher standard.

That's a body blow for Waltrip's team. Losing a season-long sponsor is going to be hard to recover from.

The story I read said other race fixing was uncovered by NASCAR when investigating Waltrip's team. Anyone have the details?

I believe that was the #22/#38 communication that helped Logano get past Gordon in the points.

The article mentioned earlier in the season, I believe.

Robby Gordon used to just throw a piece of roll bar foam out the window.

Simpler times!

And Edwards' waterbottle always seems to land between turns 3 & 4. It takes a few laps though....

The point is that it faded from importance after a while.
This will too.
Fortunately foe Michael Waltrip he seems to have some kind of in-person charisma that He has used well.
He'll find other sponsors soon enough.

NASCAR brings the race fixing on themselves with their goofy playoff system. It sets people up to have contenders make deals with non-contenders. I bet NAPA stays in the series, though. They enjoyed a lot of success supporting underdogs like MWR. I'd like to see them get behind Front Row or RCR.

Yeah, that was cool...pretty good race too.

Didn't his Dad run the 22 a little bit in Cup? Logano had better start winning on a consistent basis or there might be another Blaney in his seat.
