W7 Chrome RN

with a gpx overlay of one track (yellow line) and waypoints (yellow pins)

Try to set a trackpoint, next to the gpx track line it sets a trackpoint.

But

on the yellow line it does not set a trackpoint.
underneath lays the google earth street line (white line)
so i can not set ctrl+mouse trackpoint on this white line on a junction.

The yellow gpx overlay line is blocking the draw process.

No images on print out...

So I printed out the first couple of pages of the rally. It was missing the images of the stop sign, speed limits and others both on the printed page and in the PDF. FWIW I am on an iMac running OSx 10.8.5.

Is this normal because I haven't yet paid the upgrade fee or is it a bug?

Icons are a premium feature. See the comparison here a few pages back: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showt...851881&page=19

This really is an excellent product, I will be buying the premium for sure.

A couple of questions:

1) When you start out a route, the default road type is main road. How does one change this default?

2) Sometimes there is a complex tulip which has a number of points just after the WP, like a U turn followed by a right hand bend almost immediately. When I choose the point for the tulip, RN takes the heading as the direction from that first point to the next digitized point. This is not the final direction after the turn. So the question is: Is there a way to edit the CAP heading or get the correct heading without having to make two tulips right next to each other?

3) Finally not all of the Dakar icons are available, EMP, S etc. Is there a plan to make them available or does this appear in the premium version?

Thanks

1) Click on the road type in the editor. Mike's videos demonstrate this feature.

2) Editable CAP heading is in the product roadmap. The calculated tulip is not based on the next "waypoint", but the next "trackpoint", so you don't need another "tulip" right next to it--just a trackpoint.

For now, two options satisfy most scenarios: a) finesse the trackpoints, b) put a range of CAP headings in the description (e.g. "CAP 210-250" means that it starts at 210 but settles into 250). Then suppress the display of the calculated CAP (the videos show how to do this too).

3) Yes, we plan to add all the Dakar "text" as icons. For now, you can type "EMP", or "S".

Dave

Thanks quick feedback Dave. I've noticed changing my main route from 2ndary road to HP does not give me the dotted line. It does however changed the road types to others as need be. When I drags the HP (off piste) road type it displays it as a secondary road type not a dotted line.

I'm running i.e. 10 , maybe that will help?

Thanks again
Neil

Well, if you suspect the browser, you can always try Chrome or Firefox. I don't have Windows, so I'm no help. But on my Mac it appears to be working fine with HP.

Not that it's "not supposed to," but it's hard to replicate all types of environments during Programming, Dev and even live beta testing. Platforms, OS's and browsers are hard enough, then you have versions of browsers, versions of HTML, versions of JS, then JSOP, plugs-ins, add-ons..... Just the first two create nearly 50 combo's, then adding browers are another factor of ~10... etc.

IE is really heavy on it's own and can be clunky when trying to render some types of frontend and backend webbased programming.

That doesn't really help, but hopefully explains a bit of the headache in coding.

Thanks Buddy.

Well I have downloaded Google chrome and will see how it goes. I found the save function froze as well, and I lost a lot of WP's. Hopefully it will go better now on GC.

EDIT: Both the saving and the dotted line for HP work on GC. So I can confirm that using IE10 is not recommended.

We have been doing EXTENSIVE diagnostics over reported save problems. In every case it's been a slow network connection. 30 seconds is a max we can't move. The largest route we have is still very small (1.9MB). For most modern "broadband" that's not a problem. However, anything slower than 1 Mbps "upstream" you can run into the save problem. Sometimes people have really slow uplinks (satellite or some wireless).

We are considering options for "incremental" or "diff" saving, but it may be a bit until we see that one.

Dave

My connection is not that great, so I fully expected it to be a little slow. The difference between IE10 and Chrome is huge. IE just froze after the circle thingy within a minute. I left if for about 20 minutes just in case, but it did not change. On Chrome saving was no problem at all, apart from the usual network delay, but it always looked like something was going on. I noticed the program seemed much more robust in the Chrome environment. So I would just say don't use IE with this product, because after all we know Windoze is pretty rotten.

It a fairly specialist product that no everyone will use so rally diehards shouldnt mind using it with other std freeware.

Frankly I wouldn't worry about the gradual save thing and rather work on other stuff.
