Thanks for all the kind comments & encouragement.

Little things make a difference, I used a paper thin gasket on the primary drive cover , a different clutch basket & alloy pressure plate meant there was not enough clearance so the basket & plate rubbed on the outer cover. 2 X normal thickness gaskets seems to be the answer , no noises , clutch that clutches , gearbox does it's gearboxy thing, no noises . Will put the primary belt back on & try next weekend.
Also replaced the throttle cables & Amal throttle assembly with a Tomaselli quick action assembly & new cables . I should have known. Why is wog shit is never quite plug & play , had too mess with cable outer lengths to make it all work, could not possibly be Triumph stuff at fault.
That's all till next weekend.

I hate this itinerant lifestyle

Happy New Year from Team Winston.

The last 4 months have been chaos. All work & no play has made Trustme a very dull boy.
Winston has languished under a cover in the corner.
The Barry Sheene & the Burt came & went while I worked & Winston sat.

I've promised myself 'This year is going to be different ' . I've been at home the last 10 days, sorted out a lot of the minor stuff that takes time, gearbox is fixed , lock wiring done, oil leak gone. Tomorrow is another run up & down the road, then testing at Taupo.

First race is at Taupo in early Feb, work is full on for Jan then calms down.
Well here hoping.

It's British. Doesn't that just mean there's no oil in it?

Have noted the Taupo date in my diary, will hopefully get down for a look.

Cheers
Clint

That looks very nice. Good luck with the racing. Have those headers been coated? Doesn't look like like a rattle can job.

Called into the Taupo track yesterday to check out some classic action. Team Winston was in attendance & looking sharp:

And racing!

After some jetting changes the day before the old Bonnie was apparently going pretty well.

Cheers
Clint

Thanks for that Clint & good of you to drop by.
I'll post up pics later. Had a good dice with that Laverda, he was missing gear changes, I just got past him down the back straight on the last lap then the miss I kept chasing all weekend kicked in at 6000 rpm & he slipped back through, bugger, bugger, bugger.
The Laverda died on the wind down lap, dead electrics & a fractured muffler. Winston still has the miss. The joys of old tragics racing .

SF750 , once he gets it sorted it should go well.

Definitely on for Friday. Retorqueing [ is that a word ] the head today. Got to buy a new sun shade, windy Taupo turned old faithful inside out.
Adrian got some rods & we cable tied it together. Right about then there was a call on the PA, the flag marshals wanted the poles for their flags returned !!! hmmm ??

Some years ago I pulled onto a freeway in New Jersey. I said to the guy in the toll booth, ' Does this take me north or south '
' Either way ' came the smart arse reply
200 yards later the road split north & south

' EITHER WAY '
